And How does It Compare To Genuine Nespresso ?
Original Nespresso pods (made from aluminium) cannot be recycled in the normal way. Instead, they must be washed out and returned to either one of the Nespresso Stores or one of their appointed drop off points. We are not really sure (and Nespresso won't tell us either), how many pods are actually returned so it is anyone's guess as to how successful this initiative is.
For Caffesso, it's different. Everything except the pod foil can be recycled in the normal way. The outer carton and the plastic pod goes in your recycling bin and the coffee grinds into your compost or garden. The new hermetically sealed pod means that the outer retail box is 64% smaller than the previous retail box meaning even more waste. Lovely.
